Who we are:

Friends of Munger Mountain is a grassroots coalition of community stakeholders, hunters, recreationists, neighbors, and organizations who see another path forward for the 640-acre state lands parcel at the base of Munger Mountain.

We feel that the school trust land parcels represent a significant opportunity – to preserve historical uses and critical habitat while also providing funding to the state for public K-12 education.

What we’re doing

We are working with experts throughout the state to create a proposal for the State Lands and Investment Board (SLIB) to consider, preserving recreational uses and wildlife migration corridors.

The fact is we must come to the table with funds that show the State and SLIB we are serious about our proposal and the mandate before them to fund public schools. We want this to be a team effort and hopefully serve as a model to other counties in Wyoming on how to preserve these parcels and fund public schools.

Goals

In the end, this is a win-win; we are funding our K-12 public schools, ensuring our legacy uses recreation and hunting remain, preserving this parcel for all Wyomingites, and securing wildlife corridors and habitats for our treasured wildlife.
